Now, I doubt that half of the posters here are pedophiles, as one poster mentioned. Yes, many claim that Dakota Fanning is a pedophile favorite, but she has countless adult fans who are not pedos. Anyway, now that Hounddog is out on DVD and Blu-Ray, hopefully many movie fans will take the time to see the film and judge things for themselves. Most of the goofy rumors about Hounddog are unfounded. Yes, it is not an overly uplifting movie, but Dakota gave a good performance.

I will add that most of the people on here probably let there kids watch the stuff on T.V such as ” Bad Girls” as well as a host of not so great TV viewing. People on here are just forming an opinion based on Pat Robinson’s comments or someother moron. People stop following along and get your own opinion.
Again this is a good movie and nothing what so ever to do with Porn or Child Porn.. It is a tender movie with a message to mothers, fathers and the children that this has and will happen to. You can move on, you can over come and you can love and be loved again ! If that’s a bad message then I guess just don’t watch the movie and for Gods sake they show more nudity on TV and in teen magazines.

I give Dakota a huge thumbs up for this movie. The rape scene was very mild, showed no nudity, and was basically shown with just her hand groping at the ground and her face. Those of you who were mortified by this need to understand that this is acting, and Dakota is a great actress. And this stuff happens. It isn’t the pretty part of life, but it exists. Sorry to burst that pretty little bubble you’ve all apparently been living in but little kids show each other their privates parts, there are abusive, alcoholic fathers, and sometimes, unfortunately, a child will be raped. Did you miss the point of the movie? The point was that Luwellen had to rise from this devastation and find her voice and passion for life again. Something I think is very beautiful and touching. And true. People everyday go through this misery, and I think this movie brought about an amazing message for them. So, people: grow up, get over it, and open your eyes.

The scene was tactless. I do not deny that Dakota brilliantly acted the scene it was unbelievably realistic. But why? Doesn’t the director think that we as adults can figure out how horrible rape is without the gasps and moans of two little kids.

I say this next thing not to be annoying but to bring some actual reality to light. I’ve heard that the director wanted to shed light on the pain of you know what abuse can do. I was sexually abused as a child and I think the scene went too far and was repulsive. In fact i am curious to know how many who have commented on the film’s wonderful rape scene have any clue what it is really like? does the director? All i’m saying is I’ve been in the position that actress was in and I think the scene went too far and was repulsive.

It’s not like saying it went too far because i was to weak to stomach it. I have stomached the real thing and that scene was tactless and repulsive.

However I have no doubt that Dakota is exceptionally smart and could handle the scene that’s not really what it’s about I feel like.

It’s about how far. Where will the line be drawn?

Wasn’t there a big scandle about Catholic Priests raeping a bunch of boys or something a few years before this movie came out? And they have the GULL, sir. THE GULL! To mention anything to the rest of us about pedophilia.

This kind of thing happens in real life every single hour of every single day. And in literally EVERY Country around the world. There’s not ONE country ANYWHERE on the planet that doesn’t have reports of underage sex and rape. But no one talks about it, so the problem is out of sight, which means it’s out of mind. And hardly ANYONE does ANYTHING about it!

So… Lets get this straight..

It’s okay to raep little boys and girls in real life as long as no one talks about it, but we can’t show it in our movies?

Sean Hannity is perhaps the best example, as last Monday he interviewed someone who saw the movie at its premiere at Sundance. I forget the lady’s name, but I believe she was introduced as a conservative District Attorney and a child advocate for 30 years, so Hannity was a bit surprised when she revealed that all the negative claims about Dakota’s infamous rape scene simply aren’t true. According to her, all we see is Dakota from her shoulders on up and the guy’s arm. There is no touching, and the rape is actually achieved through editing tricks, and not on the set as some have claimed. She
explained that it occurs more in the viewer’s mind than in the movie.

But Hannity was not satisfied, claiming that what she saw was a “sanitized” version, and that he wanted to see everything that was left on the cutting room floor. Um, right, Sean. You haven’t see the movie, you weren’t involved in the editing process, you weren’t involved in the production whatsoever, yet you somehow know what “really” went on. What a jackass.

But probably the most disturbing evidence of these people’s dangerous mindset is what Catholic League president Bill Donohue, who is pushing for a federal investigation of the film to see if child pornography laws were being violated during shooting, said on CNN last Monday. He said that if this was not Dakota, but some unknown 12-year old actress who was involved in a rape scene, he wouldn’t even bother with it. Unbelievable.

Obviously, this is all about exploiting Dakota’s popularity and success to push their agenda, and has nothing whatsoever to do with a 12-year old being raped onscreen.

Finally, as reported by the Associated Press: Dakota herself sums it all up for us.

“It’s not really happening,” Fanning said of a rape. “It’s a movie, and it’s called acting.”
