Isn’t there a possibility of a sort of REVERENTIALLY and APTLY written and directed, lower budget film, being made to give the real (I don’t like the word, but I shall write it for the sake of the argument) ‘fans’ a Cobain/Nirvana experience, without making it a dissection of the poor and brilliant man’s life?

I’m sure Joe Anderson could be persuaded. I wondered who his beauty reminded me of, and all the time it was staring me in the face (literally – I have pics of both of them on my wall).

My point is that film is an ever evolving and ever more popular medium, and so why should Cobain’s view of the world, and his human magnificence, and his music not be preserved in such a way? There are only so many YouTube clips of Unplugged that we can watch. If the ESSENCE was captured, and as objective reality as possible was achieved, then there could be a very beautiful piece of art created which would not dint Cobain’s reputation in any negative way, nor present him as falsely god-like. Cobain rued the idea of being worshipped by people who had gained an idealised perception of him. Just don’t do it.

He was a man, he was a suicide (cry murder all you like, but what will it help?), and I personally believe that the perfect way to restore and strip-back Cobain to the way he wanted to be understood – to preserve what it actually was that made and makes him such a light in the eyes of so many, many, diverse people – is to find some other great artistic souls in the form of screen play writers and a director, and to make a masterpiece. Let’s celebrate a life and death, and not dwell in a static purgatory of wishing.

second just because someone looks like someone else does not mean they can actually play that role well. Tobey Maguire would fuck it up he’d be nerdy and dorky. it needs to be an actor who comes out of no where and fades again into obscurity.
