Finally! And right at Sundance Film Festival 2007! The movie rating system is about to get a facelift. Hooray. The chairman of the Motion Picture Association of America(MPAA), Dan Glickman, says he is planning on meeting with filmmakers this week to discuss a newer, better movie rating system.
Filmmakers have complained for many years that the current system has no clear rules for assigning a rating to a movie. The expected changes will include a better way of redoing the long appeals process in which directors are able to appeal a rating their film has received & make a case for re-rating their movie. The new system is expected to be in place by March.
You tell me- What other changes would you like to see for MPAA rating system?
