Rumors are flying around that the much-anticipated Spider-Man 3 may just be the most expensive movie ever made. 

According to reports, the film cost more than $500 million to make, though some Hollywood insiders are refuting this number.

Spidey producer Laura Ziskin kept her lips sealed, saying, ”I refuse to say the real number because it makes me choke. ‘Spider-Man 3′ was a super-expensive movie – the most expensive film we’ve ever made. But there ’s no way you can get to $300 million.”

Though it looks like you can get damn near close, with a Sony rep revealing that the film cost $270 million.  Either way the movie, which debuts in theaters next month, has us all wondering if it will live up to the hype.
