Wal-Mart has entered into the movie download war, so beware. With major networks signing on with the world’s largest retailer, it can’t be too long before we know the winner of this particular battle.
After doing several movie download tests, Wal-Mart is now pursuing the movie download business head first. You can see the giant’s newest attempts to take over the world at large here.
Already a crowded market (CinemaNow, Movie Link, Amazon Unbox & iTunes) Wal-Mart hopes to come in ahead of other movie download businesses & with Walt Disney, Warner Brothers, Paramount, Sony, 20th Century Fox & Universal already in their pocket, it’s going to be rather difficult for the rest to play catch-up. I guess selling 40% of the nation’s DVDs helps you in that arena.
You tell me- Will Wal-Mart win the movie download war as well?

February 22nd, 2007 at 12:54 amI think people are used to iTunes and will continue to use it despite Wal-Mart’s huge control of DVD sales. iTunes will be releasing more and more movies over time and I think people will be satisfied sticking with a familiar program to download movies.
