While it's a pretty good 80's horror movie, it never really feels as creepy and disturbing as H.P. Lovecraft's ability to send chills down my spine. I agree with you though - Jeffrey Combs does a great job and you're totally right about the Herbert West comparison. He plays it *just* different enough from Re-Animator that it doesn't feel like a copy. I have mixed feelings about ‘From Beyond’.
