High School Musical Lead to star in Footloose Remake

Variety reports that Zac Efron, the star of the Disney Channel hit movie “High School Musical” has been tapped to play Kevin Bacon’s character from Footloose in an upcoming remake of the 80s “classic”.
The plan right now appears to be to turn the project into a full blown musical, which is going to be directed and choreographed by Kenny Ortega.

August 29th, 2007 at 8:53 amOh my god, Morgan I can’t believe you think Corbin Bleu is a better dancer than Zac Efron, Zac is well better. Plus Zac Efron can act and sing ten times better than Corbin. And Zac is nicer to look at i’d rather see him on all the posters spread all over town.
