[...] Much like Phantasm III, TMNT II: Secret of the Ooze is a perfect example of what happens when the studio executives have more power over a film than the actual creators. While the original TMNT film was a near-perfect adaptation of the Mirage comic book series with only a hint of the cartoon, TMNT II draws nearly all its inspiration and atmosphere from the animated series, resulting in a very kid-oriented film that doesn’t withstand the test of time as admirably as the original.
It's hard to go wrong with the Phantasm series. Well, that's not true, Phantasm III is pretty bad. But 1 and 2 are magnificent. I haven't even gotten into the *really* bad stuff, yet. I need to write up a review for Rock & Roll Nightmare or R.O.T.O.R.

Darn you! Now I want to watch cheesy horror movies again! Well okay, not this one perhaps, but in general. I'll have to start browsing your reviews, because the last time I went channel-surfing for a cheesy horror movie I accidentally stumbled across Detour, and i was enough to keep me from wanting to see another cheesy horror movie again for a long time.
