Now don't blame Jeff Burr for what was wrong with pumpkinhead 2. the american motion picture corporation was cheap with the film and wouldn't let him use the gore he had in mind.

I think the original pumpkinhead movie was also very overlooked myself. Pumpkinhead II- Blood wings was terrible, who ever directed the movie should be ashamed of themselves and the special effects were so corny and cheep that a three year old could tell that it was fake, It did not take place after the original and that just made it even worse. Now about Ashes To Ashes, I thought it was ok for a Sci Fi movie and plus I had been waiting for years for another one to come out. I really like how the story plot took place after the original. The only thing that I do not like about it was the special affects, they were to digital unlike the original that was played by Tom Woodriff Jr., who I think did a very good job, I know if I was playing in the movie I would have really been frightined by the suit. I would just like to say that I think they should keep on making new ones as much as they can because I love horror movies and it is the only one that has ever caught my attention the way it does and scare the hell out of me at the same time. So I give pumpkinhead an A+.

[...] I’ve waited twelve years for a new Pumpkinhead movie, and even longer for a good Pumpkinhead movie. This made-for-TV film came out of the blue, it seemed, and right around Halloween, no less. While Pumpkinhead II: Blood Wings was mostly a re-imagining of the Pumpkinhead story, Pumpkinhead: Ashes to Ashes is pretty much a direct sequel to the original film, even going so far as to bring back the lead actor from the first film as well as a number of characters.
[...] The original Pumpkinhead was an inspired horror film, though too often forgotten, with great special effects and a strong story. Pumpkinhead II is an inferior sequel, which should *really* be forgotton, with dodgey special effects and a derivative story. So if I haven’t made it clear by now, Pumpkinhead II is a straight-to-video waste of time. [...]

[...] The best segment in the movie and, if you ask me, an improvement over the original episode. What makes this version better, in my eyes, is the gremlin. The gremlin from the television series was basically just a guy in a silly-looking monkey suit, and once you got a good look at it, it kind of sucked the terror out of the episode. The gremlin in this version, however, is more devil-like than anything. A very nasty and ugly monster that sort of reminds me of “Pumpkinhead” for some reason. [...]
