I was specting the death version of the comic, i agree with Boone Johnson, why oh why, do they always change the original story :(, why not keep it pure and original, i mean for us true fans out there, we would like to see the comic come alive in a animation film, is bad enough what there doing with smallville, butchering all the story, just to give it that stupid modern twist or adjustment to present times.

Just Keep it Pure and simple, for all of us, you wouldnt change the tower of pisa just because someone will want to see it straight instead of arched.

Come on!!

Having read the 3 arcs that made up the Death and return of Superman; this film disappointed and annoyed me to no end. Instead of having a 75 minute animated movie why not put it into 2 parts and have the 'Funeral for a friend' arc be the end of the first part and the beginning of the second part.

I can see why certain elements were not in the movie (the 4 supermen, Lex Luthor II, and even the Matrix Supergirl) but to shorten the story the way they did and even cut out 'Pa' Kent completely out was just a major sin IMHO ('Pa' Kent was still alive in the animated series and was just as alive in the comics -
so where was he?).

What a shame; it could have been a great story and way short of greatness.

My 7 year old son and I enjoyed it, but if you liked the original comic version, expect major disappointment, like when they made that DOOM movie (though quality-wise, it was considerably better than DOOM).
Also expect foul language and mild gore; surprising for this studio.

Why do they always have to change the story??? The original comic presented a gripping, provocative and disturbing story of the death of Superman whereas this movie...

>

shied away from a formal "death," changed the story in ways that were unnecessary and inferior, cut-out the role of the Justice League, the emergence of the other four supermen in favor of a single clone and Doomsday isn't heard from again throughout after the first 20 minutes. Irritating.
