The film was made in the early 1970′s, not late ’70′s, and it was not made for T.V. It was actually IN THE THEATRES. It grossed twenty million dollars. I was in gradeschool when the film came out and because of the way it was advertised, it created quite a stir. Teenagers who went to see it came back chuckling about the scene in which the guy was on the toilet when the monster reached through the window. The kid with the shotgun scene was another memorable moment. My dad wouldn’t let my brothers and me go see it because he thought it would be too scary (again the sensational ads) . It finally began to show up on T.V. late at night in the late ’70′s and that’s when I finally got to see it. I finally got it on DVD recently at Barnes and Noble.
