Michael Bay has made the worst films in the last 10-15 years. The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor and now this, Transformers - a film about robots made by robots! Would you believe I dozed off after 45 minutes into this garbage?!

Well I’ve seen the film.

I can say that it looked utterly amazing. It really was the best looking film I have seen all year.

Back when I first heard there was to be a live action I was dubious, I had just seen Thunderbirds and was not impressed. It took me a fair while to build up the courage to watch this.

I did not watch it again.

It made me laugh in places; I liked the general idea of the film, although I would have liked one more connected to the original. Having Unicron reappear would have been amazing. The Allspark idea was neat, but didn't hook me the way any of the original stuff, or even the newer stuff did.

The Decepticons seemed to have been hacked out of the film only being inserted near the end because the franchise demanded it. I would have preferred to see a little more of Starscream and Megatron than, "Starscream, you have failed me again." I will admit I loved that line however; even Optimus' speech at the end was good enough for me to listen to again even if I did have to turn away at the kissing scene at the end. Too Hollywood romance for my tastes and something the film could have lived without.

Good as a stand alone film, but I won't be adding it to my Christmas wish list, instead I shall be asking for the original and dragon t-shirts...the same thing I have asked for every year since I was 16.

I am now 20 and would like to point out that I have a job running my own store and I do not live with my mother in the basement. I do love the 'formers however.

Stay safe folks.

I've been told that this movie is absolutely great but I just can't bring myself to watch it. I'm not really sure why but even with my interest in the culture this originates from... I'm still not interested. If we were talking about anime shows, I'd be there... I guess I feel like the whole robots/mech thing has been done to death.

The fact that anything could make you want to "claw the eyes from a small infant" completely devalues your opinion...just so you know.

Well ive read your reviews, did I see the same film??

Id rather eat my own hat than watch this film again, it was total rubbish!!! I actually wanted to leave I was soooo bored!

Yes this film had cool special effects, probably some of the best ive seen BUT most of this film consisted of utter rubbish and cheese and the kissing on the car with the sun going down at the end made me wanna claw the eyes from a small infant.

The fight scenes were messy too, you could barely make out who was fighting who and at no point did I see anything imaginative!

This is the worst film ive seen all Summer.

If you liked Pearl Harbour (piffle) you will love this film!

I suggest alot of people need to go watch some real films before suggesting this film was in anyway good!

i have been a transformers fan for eons, you see i think the main problem with the new movie is it lacks the sense of adventure and magic that the amazing first transformers movie did,. the first movie was great, the soundtrack as great the story was good there was a sense of emotion to all the chracters. you ses the problem in the new movie i think is as follows

1 the designs dont remind us of our beloved chracters who we have waited 15 years to see again!!! dont change something that need not be changed old fans and new fans all would love the original designs of starscream optimus and all the others. and if they changed the designs to sell new toys its kind of dumb, firstly kids dont play with toys anymore, and most people who owned the old toys i am sure they are either broken by now or old and shitty so no problem to re buy new ones,
2nd the music had no emotion such as the first movie did
3 there was too little conversation and foucs on the characters and personalities of individual transformers who can can we love them if we cant get to know them!?
4 the story was shit! wtf is an ``allspark`` ``spark in my chest` jesus just call it a matrix can you?
5 megatron looked crap totally unlike the megatron we all love .
starscream looked like an ape.
6 the laser sounds from gun blasts sucked liek cheap star wars sounds,
7
the CGI was great thios movie could havce been awesome CAN YOU IMAGINE AN EXACT REPLICA of the first transformers movie using these awesome silicon graphics? wow now thats what i call a movie!!!!

FOR GODS SAKE! we waited 15 years and after shit such as beast wars and stuff give us what we want bring back the real chracters and emotion passion!!!

folks agree?

WHY are all of you so afraid to admit that you grow a BONER while watching Michael Bay's "Transfomers"???

There's nothing to be ashamed of! It's perfectly normal and natural to sport wood while watching this incredible cinematic experience.

BETTER THAN PORN, I TELL YA!

ALL OF YOU - - BE HONEST!!! LET THE TRUTH BE KNOWN!!!

I, too, grew up with the cartoon and the 1986 movie was a defining point of my childhood. I was expecting similar this time, I was expecting all CGI, even the human characters. In short, I wasn't expecting much. I was proven wrong in a serious way. The primary posted review encompasses everything and more I could say about characterization, actors, directing, effects, etc.
This is the first movie in my entire life I ever hoped for a sequel to.
Also, incidentally, all you fellows who keep mentioning that a certain part of your body increases in size when you talk or think about the movie or Transformers in general..er, stop mentioning that. Too much information. Don't be offended by me, I am female and have different sensibilities.

You are right, the film is completely amazing!!!!!!!! I think you are going to see the 4th, the 5 th...and so on :-)
It totally came beyond the espectatives, I was afraid about Bay to manage it, but I have to confess he really did a great work. He could transmit all over the world who Prime is, the hero, the icon, one of the last heros in this world. Does not matter if Megatron was did stronger than him, in the magazine and cartoon was always "a tie" between them (just in G2 Megatron became stronger), but this is not the point, it's Hollywood, but this time totally acceptable and understood :-)
Let's come T2 and T3, let's put Prime stronger (Powermaster??), let bring the Dinobots!!!! Devastator!!! Unicron!!!! AND PLEASE

I've only watched the film 3 times since it came out. I cried each time Optimus Prime appeared the first time in that movie. I watched the Transformers series when I was in primary school back in the 80's. Such nostalgia... Absolutely love it! Had not been excited over a film like this in a long long time. Only regret is that the original Transformer song is not in it.

My fists clenched during most of the first third of the movie as they'd not done since I was a child unwrapping Optimus Prime back in the 80's.

I tend to only clench my fists when I experience powerful excitement, and my fists, as well as my watering eyes heralded a crashing of emotions that was both entirely welcome and wholly unexpected.

Autobots, roll out.

Spengler, you are a prince among transfans. Unfortunately, that's not the highest compliment one could be paid, as it amounts to pointing out that you are a prince among infantile masterbating gerbils, but I am glad to see someone as thoughtful as you among our kind. Your review is great, and all I could do is echo your well-articulated thoughts. Thank you.
