Anticipation Growing for Fast and Furious 7

February 17, 2015 by Truman

With the full trailer of the Fast and Furious 7 already out, many avid fans of the cast are eagerly awaiting the movie’s release this coming April 3. Compared to the period before the release of each FF film in the past, the anticipation today is perhaps greater owing to the fact that this is Paul Walker’s last film and movie fans would like to see him alive and in action once more at least in this production.

Fast and Furious 7

The official trailer was released late last year but a new teaser trailer is out featuring the car chase scene with Vin Diesel and Paul Walker. This should give fans an idea of the amazing stunts they can expect in the upcoming movie.

Fast and Furious 7 will revolve around the villain’s pursuit for revenge over his brother’s death. It will still feature Diesel together with the regular cast Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Ludacris. The main villain here this time is Jason Statham who made a brief appearance in the 2013 film. Review: The Flowers of War

June 9, 2014 by Truman

If there’s one highly acclaimed movie about the Second World War, it has to be The Flowers of War. Inspired by a novel based on a personal account of the wartime events, the film delves on the experiences of women when China was invaded by the Japanese and how the Nanking massacre occurred.

Directed by Zhang Yimou, the movie featured English actor Christian Bale on the lead role playing the character of a mortician named John Miller who found refuge in a group of women including school girls and prostitues and helped them escape from the Japanese soldiers. Filming took place right in Nanjing, China and lasted for six months.

The missionary was managing a college in Nanjing at that time. Yan, for her part, said she was so inspired by the account prompting her to write a novel based on the perspective of a 13-year-old girl. [Read more…]

Lately we have been reviewing another kind of movies here and focused less on your typical box office stuff because… well every does that already and we like to be different. But everyone also seems to be in need of a credit loan in recent years. Unless your name is Quentin Tarantino of course but you would probably prefer to be Zemeckis, Cameron or Spielberg because these are the guys raking in the real money. And Jerry Bruckheimer.

The team of Infographiclabs created this most successful movies infographic for us and ForeverGeek.

Iron Man 2 Surprises No One, Reigns Supreme

May 10, 2010 by Andrew G. Rosen

“Iron Man 2” debuted this weekend with a $140M box office pull, helping Paramount Pictures score its best film debut of all time.

Yes, of ALL TIME.

But Robert Downey Jr. and his repulsor ray were unable to take down the “The Dark Knight” for the biggest movie opening ever ($158M).  The only way that would have happened is if (God forbid) Downey croaked before the premiere. [Read more…]

May 3, 2010 by Andrew G. Rosen

Who said you can’t go home again?  Freddy Krueger proved them wrong, returning to Elm Street 26 years later to slash in $32M in the film’s opening weekend.
