News: Stuart Gordon talks Re-Animator sequels

October 4, 2006 by Mark Pellegrini

The fine folks at CHUD.com have landed a stellar review with horror film visionary, Stuart Gordon. Gordon goes on to talk about several of his upcoming projects, including “Edmond”, but his response to questions on the 4th Dr. Herbert West film, “House of Re-Animator”, are what interested me the most:

Interviewer: Speaking of dark comedies, you also have House of Re-Animator coming up. (William H.) Macy is really going to be in this?

Gordon: Yeah! He’s looking forward to it. When we were working on Edmond, he said, ‘Stuart, I really want to work on one of your horror films.’ I told him about House of Re-Animator, and how it struck me that he would be the ideal person to play the President of the United States. He loved that idea.

House of Re-Animator is looking to be a very political film; a satire of the Bush Administration. Personally, I’m not a fan of films which cram their political views down your throat, but as a devoted fan of the Re-Animator franchise, I can’t bring myself to skip this one.
