News: ‘Wolverine’ won’t be ‘X-Men 4’

October 31, 2006 by Mark Pellegrini

According to Hugh Jackman, who played the character of Wolverine in three conescutive X-Men films, the upcoming solo Wolverine film will not be X-Men 4 in disguise. Jackman claims the goal of the film is to be a self-contained adventure, establishing Wolverine as a character of his own merit, fully fleshed-out to the audience. He says that this is the angle the film will take, and won’t be solely a follow-up to X-Men 3.
