Steven Spielberg’s DreamWorks Company to Make Film About Tintin

March 8, 2007 By Allison

tintin-dreamworks-movie-3-8-07.gifThe word on the street is that Steven Spielberg’s very own DreamWorks company has plans to make a new film about the infamous Belgian cartoon character Tintin.

The head of Tintin studios, Nick Rodwell, announced Thursday that the Hollywood movie company will be working on a preproduction of the movie which should hit movie screens in about two years time.

As of right now, it remains unclear which of the total 24 Tintin books will be picked for the movie script.  Rodwell wasn’t much help in the info department by saying, “If movie No. 1 works, we will continue.”

Whispers of making a film about the cartoon reporter who saves people’s lives wherever he goes while also making sure all the criminals are behind bars, have been going on for more than a quarter of a century.  But it looks like Spielberg is finally on the case & will be placing Tintin on the big screen.
