Sylvester Stallone was spotted Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field where he was showing his support to the Eagles in the Eagles vs Panthers game. Between plays, reporters caught up with the veteran actor & quizzed him on his new Rocky installment, Rocky Balboa, due out Christmas day.
According to the star, Stallone wasn’t very happy with the last Rocky and hopes this one will fit the bill a little bit better, “I wasn’t happy with the fifth one. I think this one is real satisfying for the people who like Rocky.”
As the game got down to freezing, fans who say Stallone on the sidelines still cheered, “Rocky!” “Rocky!”, letting us all know that we still have a taste for some more of underdog Rocky Balboa. Stallone feels at home in Philadelphia & revealed as much to the press.
“Philadelphia’s been like a real safe haven for me. The reason I’m here today is because of Philadelphia. They just backed the film. It was a real perfect blend of the character, which really represented the people of Philadelphia. It just was a lucky accident it all came together.”
Sylvester says that the new film Rocky Balboa shows an older, wiser Rocky who is more than a little reluctant to get back in to the ring to compete.
Stallone puts the spotlight on his beloved character, saying, “We realize it never goes away. Life is always going to be a battle. You expect it to get easy as you get older. It doesn’t. It’s how does he cope, how has he tried to put together new friends? He’s starting out without his wife. He’s full of grief.”
“We see it like a rebirth,” Stallone said. “Certainly not the way he was in `Rocky’ I, but an older, wiser guy.”
But I wonder, is the audience older & wiser?
You tell me- Are you going to go see Rocky Balboa on Christmas Day? Are you a real dedicated Rocky fan?
