Tom Cruise Speaks After German Movie Ban

June 27, 2007 by Allison

After Tom Cruise was banned from filming scenes at German military sites due to his being a Scientologist, the actor finally has something to say.

Cruise is to star in an upcoming movie about German assassin Von Stauffenberg, but the film is in question since the country’s government does not recognize the religion Scientology.

United Artists producer Paula Wagner stated, “Aside from his obvious admiration of the man he is portraying, Mr. Cruise’s personal beliefs have absolutely no bearing on the movie’s plot, themes or content.

“And even though we could shoot the movie anywhere in the world, we believe Germany is the only place we can truly do the story justice.”

Von Stauffenberg attempted to assassinate Adolph Hilter in 1944.  His briefcase bomb only succeeded in wounding Hitler & landed him a place in a firing squad the next morning for the plot.
