Video Rental Company Movie Gallery Buys MovieBeam

March 7, 2007 by Allison

movie-gallery-buys-moviebeam-3-7-07.gifWell, it looks like mergers & acquisitions are on the table for this morning.  Video rental company Movie Gallery announced Wednesday that it has bought & paid for the on-demand movie service MovieBeam for an unlisted amount of money.

Movie Gallery Inc. stated that the purchase will help the company deliver more content digitally & drive sales.  Movie Gallery also added that MovieBeam’s advanced technology will be “instrumental” in their plans to deliver movies to customers using streaming & downloads over the Internet.

Yeah, let’s just see who’s standing in the content streaming world in 10 years time, will we?
