Attack of The Killer Tomatoes to be remade

Cult film fans will likely remember one of the seminal “monster/sci-fi” flicks of the seventies, Attack of The Killer Tomatoes. The movie has been the perennial choice of many film geeks as one of the silliest and yet most enjoyable movies ever made. It practically redefined camp for a whole new generation of pop culture fans.

Now, the new generation will experience the killer tomato phenomenon with the announcement that it is going to be remade.

Ask a Ninja creators Kent Nichols and Douglas Sarine are currently writing the script, with Nichols directing the movie. The guy who handled the remakes for both Day of The Dead and Terror Train — M. Dal Walton III — acquired the rights for the film and he will co produce it with Emmett/Furla Films.

We can only hope that these guys give the killer tomatoes justice.
