It looks like the Hanna-Barbera classic will be coming to the big screen soon. The animated series that followed the adventures of a young boy who followed his scientist father on amazing adventures is being helmed by Adrian Askarieh, a lifetime fan of the series. He will produce with Daniel Alter. Dan Mazeau has been hired to write the screenplay.
Quest first appeared in the mid-60s as a prime time sci-fi adventure series, but was too expensive to produce, so it was canceled. It was revived again in the 80s, and is even been spoofed by the Cartoon Network Adult Swim series The Venture Bros.
Previous attempts to bring Johnny to the big screen have failed, but perhaps this one will work out. Only time will tell.
