Justice League “disbanded”

January 17, 2008 by Polly

The proposed Justice League movie was getting a lot of attention from fans of both the comic book and the 70’s cartoon show. Bad news though, Warner Bros. has announced that the Justice League movie is going to be shelved for the time being.

The project, which was supposed to be directed by George Miller, was cancelled because of purported script issues. The script that was submitted by Kieran Mulroney and Michele Mulroney was supposed to have been good but subsequent rewrites and pacing issues have derailed it. The final nail on the coffin was the writers’ strike that would have really delayed the project had it continued.

Other problems included the supposed tax incentive issues for shooting the movie in Australia and the impending end of the actors’ contract, which could result in actors joining the writers’ picket line.

Warner Bros. though has said that they will eventually make the movie in the future.
