Third Narnia movie still not greenlit

There’s been a shakeup at Walden Media with co-CEO and founder Cary Granat stepping down from the company. But more importnatly, the rights holder of the Narnia series has not given any indication that the third installment of the series has been given the go-ahead for production. The official press release for Granat’s exit indicated as much.

It is now looking unlikely that Disney’s earmarked premiere date for Voyage of the Down Treader — May 7, 2010, may not happen.

Will Poulter, the child actor who appeared in Son of Rambow, has reportedly been cast in the next Narnia sequel.

According to reports, Poulter will play Eustace in “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of The Dawn Treader.”

Poulter will play the annoying Eustace Scrubb, the cousin of the Pevensie children. Michael Apted is set to direct this sequel. The movie is expected to be released on May 7, 2010.
